Peter Scherp is originally from Kassel, Germany. He speaks both German and English. He move to the US in January 2002. He brought three of his four children with him. He married his wife Norma shortly after arriving in the states.

Peter works for AKG of America, as an Electro Master. He has been looking for ways to expand his hobby of Ham Radio.

Peter retains two radio licenses AI4UE and AK4EG in the USA.  He received it in 4/2003. DC6ZR from Germany which he received as a boy under his fathers’ tutorage. Later after his father’s passing he received his fathers call sign DJ6ZR. His father received after the first

test was given in Germany after the end of the war DL1AN.

  Peter is the Owner and Administrator of the Burlington D-Star repeater.

  Along with Don Miller WD4CWE who owns the property and towers

  where the repeater is located. The repeater is located on Cane 

  Mountain just south of Snow Camp. 

Norma Scherp is originally from Tettnang, Germany. She moved here in the mid ‘60. She has two children from a prior marriage.

Along with Peter this combined family has six children and three grandchildren.

We have two dogs and a cat that occupy the house. They are well behaved animals and love attention from visitors.
